Last day of Unalakleet

The Health Aides at the clinic.
Henrietta, Ella, a guest- i can't remmeber her name,
Sharon, Marie

The only one who won't let me take her picture is Anna. she works at the front desk.

Last night the sunset was gorgeous and the moon was really bright. I guess that's what happens when there are no clouds in the sky!

Please excuse the "blurriness" I didn't have my tripod or anything else. I was sitting in the middle of the road trying to avoid getting hit by various dogs and 4 wheelers while still trying to hold my camera still enough for it not to be 1 big blur :/

Figuring out Gimp

Rachel- I know you'll love me for this. but I used your picture for practice.

This is a picture I took of Rach against her will. The lighting was great and she actually smiled instead of trying to push the camera out of the way.

Doesn't she look purty!

Well thanks to figuring out Gimp and some online tutorials and some free time at the clinic I figured out how to make it look even better- more life like. I first fixed the colors in curves, did a layer mask to make her stand out more, did an unsharp mask to her eyes, desaturated her teeth and smudged a little on her forehead and chin to get them more out of focus.

Much more like the real Rach.

The people of Unalakleet

Here are 2 pictures of the people at the clinic at Unalakleet. I don't have any of the other people I've met, mainly because they've all been patients and Thanks to HIPPA I can't say, hey can I get a picture with you?? But I've met some of the neatest people up here, as patients and those that work in the clinic. And most importantly, a very influential person in town likes my numbing skills (with lido) better than my PA preceptors, so I've been told I could come back. :)

This is Henrietta and Marie. They are 2 Health Aides that work here. They both have adorable kids. Henrietta's youngest is 3 months old. Very cute and chunky-the baby.

This is Sharon- a Health Aide, and Jim, the PA i'm working with. He teaches at Pacific University's PA program.

Spaghetti 'n meatballs

Very random. I know.

I'm working on getting pictures of people posted but it's been busy in the clinic today. of course. So to tide you over:

yummy spaghetti...my dinner most every night the last few weeks.  I did make meatballs for it the other day though which was yummy. :)

oh and on another note.
Does anyone know how to fix this:

The internet is working fine. I can even get Hulu and Slingbox at descent speeds. So why isn't e-value working????!!!!!

DogsDogsDogs

Because I miss my little princess, and because this picture keeps coming up on my screensaver...
 and this one...
aww, isn't she cute and cuddly??
And because I'm leaving Unalakleet on friday. I have a few more pictures of the pups of the town...

This little stinker is across the street. very ferocious...but very content to stay over there and be ferocious. No need to approach the enemy.
If you can't tell he's a yorkie too. just a little smaller than my,ahem, 'little' mutt.

This is the dog I spend most of my day watching. He frequently jumps off to bark at passing ATV's, or rather he more often gets up to walk in a circle so he can lay back down in a much better position.

He's fluffy and black and has no visible eyes...seriously i've walked passed him multiple times and I can not for the life of me see his eyes??!!
I promise tomorrow I'll have pictures of actual people up here. I did have a pretty cool patient today. For HIPPA's sake he will remain anonymous, but he owns the dogs outside of town. And Ran the Iditarod last year. HOW COOL IS THAT??! I was in the room asking him all kinds of questions when i was supposed to be making sure he wasn't having a deathly allergic reaction. But hey- he didn't and I kept his mind off of that so really I was doing a service to him, right? Seriously, cool though. He said the dog I posted earlier- the one that looks like a wolf is from Kotzebu. Oh and I had another sweet man who was a veteren from Vietnam and had 2 BKA's (below knee amputations) from his 2nd tour, which he went on because he wanted to keep his brother out of vietnam. That's love. Seriously.
Anyway tomorrow. people. in pictures. I promise. Or maybe friday. or saturday. soon. that's probably more like it.

Even MORE Unalakleet

I think this would be great over the fireplace in the back room- whatcha think Rach?

Or maybe this...
No I think it's settled. This is what I'm bringing home. Isn't he so fluffy :) I wonder what tyan would think??
Hmmm... I wonder what "Native Style" is exactly. Maybe it's talking about the crab pots and snow mobile.
Here are some more pictures I took at The Point that morning.
The crazy sky again. This was right before it started raining...again.
The post office...everyone has a PO box. The mail man doesn't have to go far to deliver the mail.
A few of the far end of Unalakleet. The green building in the middle is the lg AC grocery store.

Before I post this next picture Remember...I don't have service on my AT&T cell phone here.

'splain it lucy...or should I say 'splain it AT&T
and there was a HUGE satellite right next to this.
